Kosher Graffiti, Machane Yehuda

$680.00

The colors of the store door, padlocked already at noon, begged to tell or hide a story. The shadows of the lock and padlock, the almost innocent graffiti and peeling advertisements, all contributed to the comedy-drama of the scene. Located close to the the ever popular Machane Yehuda market, the door is in a quiet side street but seems to enjoy its own steady traffic. I used the bold shapes of the door, window and traffic sign to anchor the design with a peek at the street at the corner to add a little intrigue. The dominating, sunlit cobalt blue is balanced by tones of burnt sienna, indigo and cobalt blue in the shadows.
