Emek Refaim Street in Jerusalem is a colourful, upbeat residential and shopping area, famous for its 19^th century German style architecture and its many outdoor cafes.

This picture was sheer joy to paint.  It took me several weeks to get the scene right, using props, finding an appropriate entranceway, and finally, choosing just the right shade of balloons.
