The Jerusalem neighborhood of Nachlaot, just beyond the Machane Yehuda market, is one of my favorite places to paint and explore. This little house, surrounded by new, taller buildings, has retained its original charm and grace. I saved most of the whites by painting around them in varying tones of gray, mixed by complimentary colors.
